# Backwork

> Backwork is a coverage policy research tool for billing, revenue cycle, and compliance teams. It collects the coverage policies Medicare and commercial payers publish, and shows each policy's codes with their recorded status (including prior authorization), its effective dates, the changes Backwork has recorded, and a link to the payer's own document. Its pages list structured facts from those policies, not coverage determinations; confirm requirements with the payer.
